Cavs - broken. Donovan Mitchell heads for an MRI. Down 3-1. If we’re going to consider the Wolves title contenders then it’s time to do the same for the Pacers (Wolves East). They guard 94 feet (same), feature a singular offensive weapon (Haliburton/Edwards), boast depth and balanced wings like Mathurin (angry) and McDaniels, functioning centers (Turner/Rudy) and carry over Playoff Chops from conference final runs last year.
Celtics - why don’t we think the Celtics could win 2 games in a row? Is that an insurmountable feat? The Celts flexed during an awkward 3:30pm EST tip. If they win tonight, they’re back in the drivers seat.
Warriors - even more broken than the Cavs. That said, can the Wolves finally, finally step on a team that’s down. They’re walking to the conference finals. Bryson doesn’t let up easy on these LIV fields, why do the Wolves go soft against a Steph-less Warriors.
Thunder - the best series of Round 2. Lu Dort ain’t doin it man. Limited to 19 minutes in Game 4, Mark Daigneault figured out he doesn’t need to stick with Dort if his team is 10 deep. Series tied 2-2.
Rockies - well. 21-0 will do it. Saturday’s drubbing sparks a managerial change. It was the coach’s fault! Bud Black gets the ax after 9 years in Denver. Rockies on their way to 3 straight 100-loss seasons. I’ll do it. I will coach this team. Can’t figure out why anyone else would want to.
MLB Division Leaders
At time of writing (early Monday AM, radio hours am I right), division leaders:
American League: Yankees, Tigers, Mariners
National League: Mets, Cubs, Dodgers

Hockey. One degree removed from KMARK’s comfort zone. Growth mindset. Round 2 is underway. As is tradition, let’s preview each series after it’s already 3 games in.
Jets vs Stars - US playoff ratings plunged 27% as Canada’s local heroes sent 4 franchises to the postseason (and Americans stay dialed in to an awesome NBA). Me, I love Canadian Hockey Teams. Each team is like the Green Bay Packers for their little city. Winnipeg (787k people) fight the Dallas Stars (post-Luka). Miko Rantenen leads the Stars (and the NHL) in playoff points. Dallas leads the series 2-1.
Maple Leafs vs Panthers - tied 2-2, Toronto is desperate to reach the Conference Finals. Can Austin Matthews (American) get the Leafs past Ft. Lauderdale’s hockey team? The defending NHL champs (Panthers) are lead by infinite pest Brad Marchand (playing in Florida after 16 years in Boston). Series tied 2-2.
Capitals vs Hurricanes - Ovechkin vs Charlotte. Need I say more? Tom Wilson and Dylan Strome actually drive the Caps’ engine, but I need to see Ovechkin in one more Stanley Cup. Would he retire? Does he have any interest beyond playing hockey with the boys until he’s 60?
Knights vs Oilers - McDavid and Draisaitl. The preeminent offensive duo in the league. I’m a novice Puck Head, but seeing McDavid skate is like watching me race my nephew. He has another gear. I need to race a 2 year old at BBQ to expose the same variance. Edmonton leads the series 2-1.
What do I root for in the NHL (the Kings are already out):
- Regional Canadian teams from Blue Collar Cities (preferably oil based)
- Legacy stars that need to add to their resumes
- Grit, show me a team with values
- Uniforms, god damn I love hockey jerseys
Spun into the KMARK Fan Power Ranking Algorithm, I’d rank my cheering interests as:
- Oilers
- Caps
- Leafs
- Jets
- Knights
- Stars
- Hurricanes
- Panthers
